Family plan subscribers are able to enjoy the same features as traditional individual subscriptions, but they also have the option to extend their account access to up to 4 additional family members (5 total).
Each family plan subscriber and participant have independent Ancestry accounts with separate login and password credentials.
The family plan subscriber is responsible for ownership, management and ongoing payments for the subscription. Any changes or cancellations made by the purchaser will apply to all accounts on the plan.
Yes, existing subscribers can purchase an All Access Family Plan and upgrade their current subscription to a All Access Family Plan via the Account Settings page or by calling into Member Services. Upgrades result in the cancellation of the current subscription and creation of a new subscription. A refund for the remaining time on the current subscription is applied as a credit towards the amount due for the new subscription.
Customers who purchased a subscription through a third party app store (iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Store) are required to cancel their subscription with the third party first before purchasing a family plan subscription.
Yes, if you're invited to another family member's Family Plan, you will be prompted to cancel and get a refund for any remaining time on your existing subscription prior to joining the family plan. Note that some subscription scenarios may require you to cancel your subscription on your own before joining the family plan. Examples include: Ancestry subscription purchased within iTunes, Google Play or Amazon store mobile apps.
* A 6–month All Access Family Plan commitment of $399 saves you $200 when compared to a 1-month commitment of $99.99 over the same time period.
A 6-month All Access commitment of $399 (billed in monthly payments of $79.99) saves you $120 when compared to a 1-month commitment of $99.99 over the same time period.
