Illa L. McMillen, age 94, of Baraboo, WI, passed away on Friday, November 27, 1998 at St. Clare Meadows Care Center. She was born on July 8, 1904 in Westfield, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Eunice (Pike) Chesky. She married Vernon McMillen on August 23, 1930 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1972. She married J. Pearl Cull of Manitou Springs, CO, on October 28, 1984 and he preceded her in death in 1988. She graduated from Westfield High School and a two-year teacher's training and taught in several Marquette County country schools. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a member of Lake mason Rebeckah Lodge of Briggsville, and other branches of the Order, and Star of Bethlehem Order of the Eastern Star of Portage for over 50 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie (Lyle) Getschman of Baraboo; her son, Verle (June) McMillen of Las Vegas, NV; stepson Dr. Ted Cull of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren, Gary and David Getschman, Nancy Batchelder, Bradley and Brian McMillen and Ronald Porter; eight great-grandchildren; Ryan, Becky Jo, Kahla, Skyler, Rachel, Brandon, Tara and Courtney; one sister, Gladys Reid of Beloit; other relatives and friends. In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Harlan Chesky.
Memorial services were held in the Rago Funeral Home, Baraboo, on Wednesday, December 9, with Pastor David Gilmore officiating. Burial took place in Hillcrest Cemetery in Endeavor.
