I have extensive information on the descendants of Arthur Maxwell who moved from Summit County to homestead 160 acres along the river in Tabiona. I have copies of the diaries made by his son that described their early days. I have extensive information on the Maxwells and the inter-marriages with Whites, Marchants, etc. I recently toured Scotland and have found the very houses that the Maxwell family lived in in 1841 in Kirkfieldbank, and in New Lanark in 1851. Please contact me if you would like to share information.

Hi Gary
My Aunt was Pearl White, my fathers sister, they lived on a ranch up the Duchesne River on the way to Tabby, maybe I can answer some questions, I also have pictures old and new of the Ranch.

Sorry Gary, wrong family, my grandfather was Oscar T. White, but he did have a daughter named Pearl, and they did live in the area. There was a old town named Talmage between Taby and the Ranch.

This weekend I was exploring in Lake Canyon, Utah and I came across a small aluminum name tag with the inscription "OSCAR T. WHITE DUCHESNE,UTAH" on it. I believe this is an ear tag for livestock??

Do you know if your grandfather spent much time in Lake Canyon? Was he a rancher (cattle/sheep)? If so, did he take his livestock to Lake Canyon in the summer months?

I believe that this name plate likely belonged to your grandfather.

Rather than responding to this post in this site, please respond to me at

Thanks, Rod
