My notes on Amos and his family are compiled from various sources. I'm not a direct descendant of Amos but of his brother, Nathaniel, who settled in Wayne Cnty, NY.

Their father, Joseph(1753-?) moved from NH to NY(Watertown) abt 1800 with a large family- family from NH. (Amos was last son born in NH-1796). Nathanial, b. 1794 settled in Wayne Cnty, NY. Both Amos and Nathaniel are listed in 1820-1840 census.

There is a son, James, but he stayed in NY. Only finding 3 Wadley families in MI as of 1870. One is George and Sarah Harper Wadley, not related, the other is George and Julia, who is son of Nathaniel, and Frederick who is gr. nephew.

A fellow Wadley researcher pass some notes to me on Joseph's family. She indicates Amos might have moved to Michigan and suspected his wife's name was Clarissa. Because of my Wadley descendants moving to MI, do believe this Amos is descendant of Joseph (not too many Amos's out there)

Amos not listed in 1850 Wayne Cnty, NY census, but an Amos was listed in 1850 Armanda Twp, Macomb Cnty, MI census . (Amos b.NH age 54 -.abt 1796). Family is listed in 1860 Hadley MI census. ( Amos age 65 b. NY + Clarrissa and Louisa J., 13)

1870 Hadley census list Clarrissa Wadley, age 70 b. NY with Vanvranken family. Suspect Amos died before1870 and need to write to cemetery in hope of figuring his date.

Pension was applied for on Amos(war 1812?), and residence listed as Oxford MI. Nathaniel also applied for pension, (Galen NY).

Flint genealogy society webpage has cemetery index on line. Amos and Clarrisa are listed (Greenwood). Louisa Vanvranken listed in same cemetery. Also, Michigan marriage was found on line (Dibean Collection) that listed marriage for Amos and Clarrisa in Lapeer abt 1848. (Louisa was born in 47-48)

Suspect Amos had married before Clarissa but haven't had much luck in figuring that part out. But age of children in 1850 census lists John L. age 25, Helen, age 11 and Elizabeth age 22. Also there is Louisa age 2 and Fanny age 1. (just not too sure how John, Helen and Elizabeth relate just yet... )

and that's all I got. Let me know if you can add to this little story..
Hoping to hear...
