Henrietta Gladys Swearingen, 85, passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006 in Silverton at Marquis Care at Silver Gardens.
Henrietta was born on April 25 1921 to Henry and Olga Cerine at their home in Logsten. She graduated from Siletz High School in 1939 and completed post graduate work in bookkeeping and shorthand. Henrietta married Chester â€œLyleâ€ Swearingen on June 7, 1941 in Waldport. They lived and worked in various parts of Oregon until settling in Klamath Falls in 1967. Henrietta enjoyed gardening, collecting birds, traveling, quilting and knitting. She was a long-time member of Prosperity, 104 Rebekah Lodge and The Order of the Eastern Star. She spent a tremendous amount of quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, of whom she was very proud. Henrietta attended Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Klamath Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chester â€œLyleâ€œ Swearingen of 58 years and her parents.
Survivors include: Sons and daughters-in-law Dr. Dell and Carolyn Swearingen of Silverton and Dee and Vieva Swearingen of Cottonwood, Calif.; Daughter, Susan Alexander of Klamath Falls; Dister Alice Cerine of Rohnert Park, Calif.; Sister and brother-n-law Maybelle and Doug Brown of Salem; Grandchildren Sean and Larissa Swearingen of Salem, Shae and Melissa Swearingen of Salem, Tau Swearingen of Yreka, Calif., Tonya and Tony Sowles of Eagle Point, Kevin Alexander of Klamath Falls, Dennis and Rose Alexander of Elk River, Minn., Andrea and Mike Bell of Albany, and Tami Alexander of Klamath Falls; Great-grandchildren Stephen, Samantha, Matthew and Rose Alexander of Elk River, Megan Alexander and Xander Bell of Albany, last, but not least, grand-dog, Leigh-La Swearingen of Silverton.

A celebration of her life will be held a the Scottish-Rite Temple, 620 Walnut Ave., Klamath Falls with date and time pending.
Interment was coordinated between Virgil T. Golden Funeral Home in Salem and Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Klamath Falls where she will be laid to rest along side her loving husband.
