WEDDING ANNUAL TO BE OBSERVED
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goldstone Have Been Married Half a Century
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goldstone will celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding this afternoon with an elaborate reception given at their home. 1322 Geary street. It will be of particular interest to Californians to learn that Goldstone made the first American flag used at Shasta, for July 4, 1854. The couple will receive their friends this afternoon and will entertain at a family dinner to be given tomorrow evening at their home.
Charles Goldstone came to California February 2, 1853, on the steamer Oregon and went at once to Shasta, where hs engaged in mining. He was married to Miss Flora Heppner March 15, 1859 in New York and returned with his bride to California. He is a charter member of the Masonic lodge and has many friends among the pioneers of this state.
Mr. and Mrs. Goldstone have seven children living and among their relatives are many from the eastern states end from Oregon, who will be iff this city for the celebration. One of their sons. Henry Goldstone, is engaged in business in this city.
