Mrs. Solomon Biggs
Mrs. Louise Biggs, 44, of 917 13th St., died Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus after an illness of several months. A native of Portsmouth, she was born Dec. 13, 1918, a daughter of John R. and Hazel Melvin Hairston. She was a member of Findlay Street Methodist Church and its Ladies Auxiliary and Circle Club. Survivors include her husband, Solomon, to whom she was married Nov. 1, 1940; her mother, Mrs. Hershell Gasoway of Dayton; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Lou Carr of Detroit; three brothers, Edward Hairston, 1204 Waller St.; John W. Hairston, 1209 12th St., and Robert Hairston, 1128 10th St.; two grandchildren; her stepmother, Mrs. Cora Hairston, 1128 10th St., and her stepfather at Dayton. Funeral services are to be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Emrick Funeral Home, with Rev. Melvin Bateman officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home after Friday noon.
