Guiana Chronicle 1835 has the following announcement:
Wednesday 6 May 1835. Died - Yesterday morning, at his residence in Water-street P. MACHRAY, Esq., of the firm of MACHRAY & ROSSITER. In his decease, the mercantile world has suffered the loss of one of its most upright and honorable members, and society in general has been deprived of a most excellent fellow-citizen. The remains of Mr. Machray were this day interred with military honors by the Corps of Militia Academy, in which he had for many years served as an officer.
