Charles Hager (born c. 1888) was the second husband of Henrietta Madglena Leist (9/27/1872 Chicago – 4/6/1937 Chicago; http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=18... ) after the death of her first husband Albert Schwingel in 1907, and they married on 10/20/1920 in Chicago.

I have two death records for Hattie Hager: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2MK-8GYY and https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N3HM-RZ8 and a burial record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q2HN-FRT6 Her death notice shows that she was the "beloved wife of Charles, sister of John N. Leist and the late Mary Klute, Helen Arnhold and Kate Makarski." This is probably them in 1930, showing husband Charles O. Hager (born c. 1888 IL): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSGR-5ZS If correct, this was not the first marriage for Hattie. His first marriage was at age 32, meaning they got married c. 1920 - but her first marriage was at age 19, meaning c. 1890. That says his father was born in IL and his mother was born in Germany, so this must be him with his family in 1920: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MJ3R-N42 and therefore with his family in 1900 showing he was born in Feb 1888: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MS32-TG5 and considering this is probably him as Charles Otto Hager in 1940 now in Danville IL as a patient: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KW83-5ZY then all of this fits together to show his death record as Charles O. Hager (2/19/1888 Chicago - 8/5/1941 Danville IL): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NQS5-FRN which indicates he was buried at the local VA facility, and therefore this would be his memorial: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/61995998 Maybe an obit from a Chicago or Danville paper would prove that, but I think that is very likely to be him! Now, digging just a bit more, we have a marriage record of Charles Hager and Hattie Schwingel on 10/20/1920 which fits all the above information for them, and even has them getting married in the same church where she had her funeral service: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N78K-25Z

The challenge here is to verify whether the Charles who died in 1941 was the same Charles who married Henrietta.
