About Arizona State Archives

Arizona State Archives

The Arizona State Archives is the official repository of the permanent records of Arizona's state and local governments. We hold records from the territorial and state governors, the courts, the recorders and tax assessors offices and many other state and local government offices that create documents of interest to genealogists and family historians. We identify and preserve government records of enduring value and dispose of those non-permanent records that have met their retention periods. The Archives and Records Management Branch is part of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records (L.A.P.R) which is a Division of the Office of the Secretary of State and provides information services as authorized in Arizona Revised Statute §41-151.
