Chinese: Mandarin form of the surname 乜: (i) traced back to some minority ethnic groups (such as the Xianbei Hui or Tangut people). (ii) adopted in place of another Chinese surname 也 (pronounced as Ye in Mandarin). Chinese: variant Romanization of the surname 倪 see Ni .
