Irish (Connacht): erroneous translation of Ó Ceanndubháin ‘descendant of the little black-headed one’ (see Canavan), as if from Gaelic ceann ‘head’ + bán ‘white’. Translated form of German Weisshaupt (see Weishaupt) or Weisskopf (see Weiskopf).
