Terrebonne Name Meaning

Apparently a French topographic name, from terre ‘land’ + bonne ‘good’. However, the surname is not found in French sources; moreover, the adjective is in the wrong position for French, and the distribution of the name in the U.S. does not comply with the normal French pattern. It would seem to be a Frenchification of some other surname.
