Korab Name Meaning

Polish and Czech (Koráb): from koráb ‘boat’, ‘ship’, a metonymic occupational name for someone who worked on a river boat or a ship, or a habitational name for someone who lived at a house distinguished by the sign of a ship or boat. As a Polish name, it may also be from a coat of arms bearing the sign of a ship. An earlier meaning of the word was ‘old tree’, and in some cases the surname may have arisen as a topographic name from this sense.
