Kano Name Meaning

Japanese: ‘harvested field’; variously written, with such variation in the characters used for the second syllable that the name can be pronounced either Kano or Kano. There are several place names of both pronunciations throughout Japan. One Kano family was descended from the Ito branch of the southern Fujiwara. A Kano family was descended from daimyo of Suruga (now part of Shizuoka prefecture), and another from the Matsudaira family of Kano-mura in Mikawa (now part of Aichi prefecture).
