Ichikawa Name Meaning

Japanese: ‘marketplace river’; variously written, a common place name throughout Japan. One branch of the Taira clan lived in a place called Ichikawa-go in Kai (now Yamanashi Prefecture), and took that name. Found mostly in eastern Japan.
