Broxton Name Meaning

English: habitational name from Browston in Suffolk, recorded in Domesday Book as Brockestuna, from the Old English personal name Brocc (from Old English brocc ‘badger’) + Old English tun ‘settlement’, or from Broxton in Cheshire, an obscure name, possibly from Old English burgæsn ‘burial place’. Possibly an altered spelling of German Broxten, a variant of Broxtermann (see Broxterman).
