Bole Name Meaning

Irish: variant of Boyle. Altered spelling of German Bohle or Boll. Norwegian (Bøle): habitational name from any of the farmsteads so named, from Old Norse bøli ‘farm’. Slovenian: probably from a medieval altered short form of the personal name Valentin (see Valentine). Replacement of initial V with B and alternation between the vowels a and o is quite common in Slovenian surnames.
