I just started keying the TN Early Land Registers and almost immediately got confused. Below is one example of what I am seeing:

No. 1430
This is to certify That John Rutledge is entitled to enter and obtain a Grant for Thirty acres of Land (within this state) in consequence of so much of a tract granted to John Rutledge by Grant No. 5391 dated 15th day of February 1814 which issued for
thirty acres, from the state of Tennessee being taken by the interference of Grant No. 7027 dated the 26th day of May 1815 from the state of Tennessee for 640 acres, to Sampson Williams

Given under the hand and seal of the President of the Board of Commissioners for West Tennessee, this 21st day of June in the year 1820

Attest, A Foster
J Black??

There seems to be 2 grant no., 2 names and 3 dates. As a family researcher, I would think that all of these are significant.

How should they be keyed?
