I am embarking on a project that involves uploading data from a hardback edition of a family pedigree dating back to the 1600s (there are 40 charts, plus notes relating to each chart, and introduction pages), and then making it a live website.
I am new to genealogy software and would like help/advice on the best software to use? At the moment I am favouring Family Tree Maker, and gather that it is works alongside Ancestry.com in order for the website to go live?
I would like the live family pedigree to be: 1. user-friendly with easy navigation, 2. reflective of the 'branding' of the family, 3. for the files to be easily printable back into a hardback edition.
Also, I work on a MacBook - if I create the family pedigree on a Mac, can anyone then view the live website? Or only others who work using Macs as well?
Can anyone help/advise?
