If you are doing the sync, then you must be using version 2012 - is that correct?
If you have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, you may have lost any sync records you had, so will probably have to re-download your tree from Ancestry - assuming that your main tree is online, not on your computer.
Did you re-register your FamilyTreeMaker after you reinstalled it?
