Same Family on two pages of Census - FTM 2012

Of old, when I found a family on a census report where part of the family is at the bottom of one page and the rest of the family is at the top of the following page, I was obliged to save the second page image, edit the source, add the second page image to the source. I thus had 2 media items attached to the same source, with a P1 and P2.

Now, at least in one instance, I note that the FTM 2012 on its own created a second source with its second page image. In order to maintain my system I was forced to delete the new source with its image for the three youngest children and revert to copying and pasting the source for the first image which, as of old, has both images as explained earlier.

I'm wondering whether this is an isolated case or if anyone else has observed that now when there are two pages on a census FTM 2012 creates separate sources for each?
