I have several books for different families that are all over 40 pages, some over 200 pages, that I routinely print. (I keep short cuts to them so I have quick readable version of my database available.)

Do you have your book tied to an Ancestry link?

When you said Ancestry Tech did you mean FTM Tech? (They are different.)

I am sure the Tech had you do it, but I have to ask, have you compacted the FTM database?

If it is the story, there probably is an improper character in the story. While I have not found this problem yet with 2012, FTM 16 would periodically have problems with improper characters in text. Improper characters are characters the that printer interprets as a printer code or the program itself finds a character that has special meaning to it and it responds accordingly.

If the story were mine, I would copy the story to a text file ie Windows Notepad and save it. I would then delete the entire story that is causing problems, and recreate it by creating a new story and copying the one you saved in Notepad in to a new story. By copying it to Notepad you would scrub the text of all but the characters that are text ie a - Z and 1 - 0. This scrubbing would remove any characters that may be interpreted by FTM or the printer as print codes.

In my experience only cut and paste to FTM with great care. Frequently when you cut something from unknown text, you can easily pick up one of these characters I am talking about. Been there, done that, and paid in time to find them and remove them.
