SS Valencia - Passenger and Crew List

Posted: 1305324205000
Classification: Query
Surnames: Crane
My great-grand uncle, Virgil "Berty" Montieth Crane, died in this tragic wreck on Jan 22/23 1906. His body was found on the shore near Cape Beale just up the coast from the wreck. His body was returned Jan 24 to Seattle. He is buried next to his father, James Wolf Crane, in Yakima Washington. His mother was Cynthia Hartness (Van Winkle) Crane. His wife was Margaret "Maggie" and they lived in San Francisco. An article on "Missing Pantryman..." ran with several other stories and this list in the Seattle Times. I've seen several posts looking for the Passenger/Crew list so I decided it would be worth posting here.
Through research I've found that this list, while of record, may not contain all the passenger / victims as some hitched rides on the Valencia while transporting to other ships /ports enroute. I hope this helps others in their research...

Transcribed as written from the listing posted in the Seattle Times Jan 27, 1906:
