A directory was published in 1922 and it lists the home :
St. Joseph's Home, no address, a Catholic home for dependent white children, age 2-16, from the Diocese of Concordia. It was conducted by Sisters of St. Joseph [of Carondelet]. It was founded in 1914.
In 1944 the see was moved to Salina : Diocese of Salina.
The latest listing I know of was in the 1950 edition of the "Official Catholic Directory," published by P.J. Kenedy, in which it is called St. Joseph's Orphanage, no address. Maybe the address can be found in the federal census of 1920. Abilene is in Dickinson County, and Ancestry.com probably has a message board for that county. Use the search window at the bottom of every page to find a board.
