Hello Paul,

I’m also glad that Tom put up the pictures. A picture is truly worth a thousand words. I keep looking at the video and it brings back a fluid of memories. Also I find reading all the posts helps me focuses on the good time at CBH. I’m so happy to hear from others who grow up there. I’m happy to do the research.

Actually I’m re researching what I did a few years ago. At that time I found the Inglewood cemeterie's history of the property that CBH was on. It was rather interesting they say that before the Inglewood was incorporated in the year 1900 that the cemetery and CBH property was once a horse riding stable and resort. When the city was funded the owners of the resort trend the 1000 plus accrues riding grounds in to a cemetery and least the land that CBH occupied to a local Baptist church. It was a 100 years leas and stipulated that it was to be used as an orphanage. The original church that held the leas sold the leas in 1950 to the Baptist church in Baldwin Hills that kipped the same name for a children’s home that they had been planning on building since the 1930s.

I’ll keep looking for the LA Times article that has the story of the 10 acres at 7715 Victoria Ave in it.

Mean while I have started a web site in order to keep a record of articles oabout CBH at. The site is called:
Children’s Baptist Home Inglewood Reunion

Its temporary address is:

As soon as I can get a shorter address I will post that as well.
