I am doing research regarding my grand-mothers family name FRANCHINA. I have the 1910 Census Records from Northampton County, Washington Township, Upper District and is indicates a Cologeco Franchina living in Enumeration District 127 along with his wife Maria (Ravipinto) Franchina along with their two children Rosina (my grand mother) Guiseppe. I have listed their ages at the time of the census at the bottom of this posting.
My interest at this time is to find out more information regard Cologeco Franchina. I have heard reports that he may have died during a slate mining accident sometime between the years 1910 and 1917. The reason I have narrowed it down to these years is that Maria (Ravipinto) appears on the 1920 Census along with her new husband Carmello Pretopapa and they are living in the Easton, PA area. Maria's children with Cologeco Franchina are listed on this census but they are listed as step children to Carmello the head of household.
All my research into the death of Cologeco comes up empty and I was hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction to find our when exactly Cologeco died and the circumstances surrounding his death. I would also like to possibly find out where he was interred.
My grand mother died in 1966 and all of her siblings have also passed on. In fact the last remaining Franchina family member lives in Bellingham, Washington and he has no memory of his grand-father.
Any information that anyone can provide to me would be greatly appriciated.
