I am in contact with the descendants of a John Chisholm who live at Grand Cayman and they cannot throw any light on the ships name. I am told that as no records were kept in the Caymans they have had to use a book called “Notes on the history of the Cayman Islands” by George S.S. Hirst. Unfortunately whilst it describes the storm that came upon the ship and how John Chisholm was saved in some detail it doe's not name the ship which to my mind is strange as so much seems to be known about the incident.
What I would like to do is place John Chisholm on the ship that left Liverpool in early 1846 but I have no idea where to look for such information.
Thank you for your help to date halpark.
