Mystic, CT - Marie Louise (Hinson) Wren went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 20, 2008.
Marie was born July 25, 1924, in Miami, Fla. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and from nursing school at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Wren, of 62 years; her three loving daughters, Dianne Miller, Mary Ewing, and Rita Wren. She was blessed to have six grandchildren, Carrie Jewell, Matt Miller, Jessica Silverman, Brent Miller, Christine Ewing, Wren Conn; and six great-grandchildren, Olivia Jewell, Hammer Jewell, Madeleine Miller, Alexander Silverman, Morgan Miller, and Raleigh Jewell. Marie is also survived by her brothers and their wives, John and Bambi Hinson and Bill and Bettye Hinson; and her sister, Nancy Ogden. In addition to her immediate family, many extended family and friends will miss this beautiful, open-hearted, generous woman after God's own heart.
Marie was always active in her church, teaching Sunday school, working with children, missions, and numerous volunteer services. She was chairman of Christian Women's Club and led many bible studies in the community.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, July 28, at Grace Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in North Stonington. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, at Dixmont Corners Cemetery, Dixmont Corners, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of her favorite charities, Operation Blessing International, Cleft Lip Palate Program, 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach VA 23463.
