BOARDMAN, OH – Theodore “Ted” Kalischak, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.

Ted was born Dec. 22, 1933, to Catherine (Pruce) Kalischak and William Kalischak of Campbell, Ohio.

Ted was a life-time resident of the area, where he was raised with the help of his stepmother, Helen Kalischak, and attended Campbell Local Schools.

He enjoyed 58 years of marriage with his loving wife, Catherine “Kay” Leshnack.

Together they had three daughters, Debbie Olney (Bryan), Karen Brewer, and Cathy Glista, all of Canfield, Ohio.
Ted loved his seven grandchildren, Ron Glista (Jennifer), Jamie Glista, Darla Reardon (John), Joe Glista III (Erin), Jackie Glista, Chris Brewer, and Eric Glista. Ted and his granddaughter Jackie Glista shared the same birthday. Ted also enjoyed spending time with his four great-grandchildren, Aaron Glista, twins Ava and Emily Glista, and Jack Reardon.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Brunovich.

He is survived by his siblings, Robert Kalischak (Sandy) of Arizona, John “Dado” Brunovich (Martina) of Campbell, Ohio, Helen “BeBe” Bucci of Boardman, OH.

Ted was an avid sports fan of all of the local “C” teams: Canfield Cardinals, Campbell Red Devils, and Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians.
Ted enjoyed spending his time going on family vacations and camping trips, visiting casinos with his wife, and making his family and friends laugh.
He was a general superintendent with B&B Construction, before retiring in 1996.

Ted was a faithful member of St. Cyril and Methodius Church, where he enjoyed services and activities with his wife, Kay.

Memorial services to honor him will be held Friday, June 14, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road in Youngstown, OH.

Funeral services will follow on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish- Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church.

Contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
