REDMOND, WA: Barbara Ann Kotsanos, 79, passed away peacefully at her niece's home in Redmond, Washington on Monday, February 25, 2013.

She was born November 12, 1933 in Mansfield, Ohio (Richland County) to Frances O. Dewitt and George C. Kotsanos.

She lived most of her life in Mansfield before moving to Redmond, Washington in 2007 to live with her niece, Darla Saville.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Sue Cairns, who died during childbirth, and a sister, Beverly Jean Flannigan, who died in 1976.

She is survived by loving family members including Donna Newberry-Fields, Carol Kotsanos Jackson, Frances Dewitt and sons, Rhonda Hile, Darla Saville, Todd Newberry, Carol Potter, Jerry Rose and Cole Rose.

She worked at Hartman Electric for 47 years before retiring.

She savored a cold beer on a hot summer day. For decades, her green thumb invigorated her houseplants.
She loved to dine out, appreciated a home cooked meal and never made false claims about being a good cook.
She admired and appreciated the natural beauty in the rolling hills of northern Ohio.
She loved to drive and would fly down the road like a "bat out of hell".
She was meticulous about her person, her home and her things. She loved to have her hair colored and styled. She was always "put together" and even in her final days remembered to apply fresh lipstick.
She was flirtatious and loved White Linen perfume.
Later in life, she was the first person to get up and get to the dining room for a cup of hot black coffee.

She was a grand champion of those closest to her heart and a deeply loyal friend.
Her passionate heart and deep love is forever rooted in our best memories.

A service to share memories and honor her life will begin on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd.
