NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – Josephine M. Casalini, 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman, Ohio with her loving family by her side.

Josephine will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her outstanding Italian cooking and sitting on her porch socializing.

She was born Oct. 11, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Vivo) Skarote and was a lifelong area resident.

Josephine was a graduate of East High School and a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

She was employed as a lunch aid with the Youngstown City Schools for over 17 years and retired in 1993.

She enjoyed doing crafts and ceramics, traveling to casinos and socializing with all her friends, especially when they met for lunch. Josephine loved vacationing at the ocean and beach along with playing bingo.

Her husband, Aldo Casalini, whom she married Sept. 7, 1957, died Feb. 18, 2006.

She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories, a son, Ronald (Jackie) Casalini of New Middletown, Ohio; a granddaughter, Nicole Casalini; three sisters, Katherine (William) Hickey of Hilliard, Ohio, Mary (Louis) Salreno of Youngstown and Elisabeth (Jack) Mirone of Girard, Ohio; and two brothers, Gerald (Cathy) Skarote of Poland, Ohio and Joseph (Christine) Skarote of Struthers, OH.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel and James Skarote.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 4, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 343 Via Mount Carmel in Youngstown, Ohio.

Friends may call on Monday, March 4, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 9:55 a.m. at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman. .

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
