Funeral service for SFC (Retired) John Oppy Hall II, 68, Fletcher, will be 12:30 pm Wednesday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dr. Bill Schneider, Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, officiating.
Sergeant Hall died Tuesday, January 10 at his home.
Masonic Rites will be offered by Masonic Lodge # 367 and Eastern Star Lodge # 255.
Burial with Full Military Honors will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
Sergeant Hall was born March 13, 1943 in Newton, Iowa to John O. Hall I and Theona (Lamb) Hall. During his service in the Army he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with Five Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Five Overseas Service Bars, Good Conduct Medal Fourth Award, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm. He married Gloria E. Serrano in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. She died March 4, 2011. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #367 and the Eastern Star Lodge #255, and he was a Shriner Clown for many years, where he also played Santa Claus at functions. Sergeant Hall was a charter member of the Monarch of Amber Grotto #204 and the Beaver Creek Free Trappers Black Powder Club in Sterling. He will be loved and missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Annette Davis of the home; a daughter in law, Anita Bickerstaff; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, James Hall, Texas.
His parents and a stepson, Felix preceded him in death.
