MANSFIELD: It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Nagin Ranchod, 81, on Saturday, November 10, 2012.
Beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather and physician, Dr. Ranchod was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on December 18, 1930.
He studied at Witswatersrand University in Johannesburg, South Africa, and earned his medical degree from The University of Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland.
He married his wife, Charlotte, in Meriden, Connecticut, in 1960.
Dr. Ranchod completed his medical residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, from 1961-64 and began his practice in internal medicine in Mansfield in 1964. He extended his medical skills, warmth and bedside manner to patients for thirty-five years prior to retiring in 1999. Post-retirement he continued to serve those in need through Healing Art Missions, Dumay and Demier, Haiti.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughters Sita Ranchod-Nilsson (Atlanta,Georgia) and Tara Ranchod-Reynolds (Wadsworth, Ohio); son, Arun (Cleveland, Ohio); granddaughers Maya Ranchod, Annika Ranchod-Nilsson and Tess Reynolds; grandsons Jairaj Ranchod and Erik Ranchod-Nilsson; brothers Uttam and Manilal Ranchod, and sister Jasoda.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ghela and Mancharam, and his sister Pali.
Dr. Ranchod was a skilled artist, working in paints and sculpture and had a deep love for music.

In memory of Dr. Ranchod, a memorial service will be held Friday, November 16 th at 4:00 pm at Snyder Funeral Home, 350 Marion Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44903. The Reverend David Sipes will officiate and friends are invited to visit until 6:00 pm.
