WOLFE CITY,Texas — Phillip Dwayne Herron, 53, of Wolfe City died Aug. 22, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville following a two-day illness. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Dr. Kevin Mitchell and Bro. Dwight Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home.Born Aug. 22, 1955, in Fort Benning, Ga., he was the son of Phil and Dean Thacker Herron. He married Patty Gardner on Sept. 22, 1973, in Wolfe City. Mr. Herron was a retired mobile home production manager and a rancher. Survivors are his wife of Wolfe City; three sons, Cary Herron and wife Amy of Wolfe City and Cody Herron and wife Kim and Curt Herron of Chandler; two sisters, Teresa Hill and Kathy Thacker of Wolfe City; one brother, Keith Herron of Wolfe City; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; father-and mother-in-law Tommy and Charlsie Gardner; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.His parents and grandparents preceded him in death.Pallbearers are Josh Gardner, T.J. Jones, Chance Herron, Colt Herron, Rodney Easley, Jeremy Gardner, Jerry Fox and Rusty Morris.Memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital of Dallas and Youth Sports Association, in care Marsha Morrison at Alliance Bank in Wolfe City.
