Richard R. Berry, 56 years of Temperance, MI, died Sunday, January 11, 2004 in St. Anne Mercy Hospital, Toledo. Born April 13, 1947 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Rexford A. and Lillie P. (Griffith) Berry.
A US Air Force veteran during the Viet Nam War, he was employed in quality assurance for GM Powertrain for 30 years, retiring July 1, 2000. Richard then started R&G Enterprises, an automotive consulting firm, which he was still operating. He married Georgia (Herbster) Edgington on October 16, 1997 in Gatlinburg, TN. He was a member of the UAW, Local 14, American Legion, post 587, Conn-Weissenberger and had been active in the Junior Achievement.
Surviving are his loving wife, Georgia. Son, Brian (Maria) Berry. Step-sons, Kevin and Robert Edgington. Brothers, William (Theresa) Berry, James (Carol) Berry, Wallace (Sherry) Berry. Former wife, Mun Cha Berry and 4 grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment following in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
