McELHANEY, CURTIS L. Entered into eternal life on May 28, 2006 from Dallas, TX. The first born son of Chester and Sheila McElhaney, Curtis was born on October 8, 1981 in Iraan, Texas where he grew up and lived most of his life. From a young age, Curtis loved sports. He played t-ball, then baseball for most of his childhood. He played seventh and eighth grade football. Curtis was especially proud that he was able to be on the very first team with a female football player in Iraan. Curtis moved to Dallas in 1998. He graduated from Gateway Christian Academy. Curtis was an excellent student and excelled in reading and writing. He received his state certification in X-Ray technology in 2003. Curtis was so full of life and so outgoing. These qualities served him well in his position as sales associate with Empire Today where he was employed for the last year and a half. Curtis loved the ocean, boating on the lake and spending time with his friends. His favorite foods were pizza, sushi and especially his mom's cheese enchiladas. Most of all Curtis loved his family. He loved working out with his brother Cheston, playing games on the Play station with his little brother Austin, talking with his mother Sheila and spending time with his grandmother Adrienne. Curtis has a wonderful relationship with his step-father, step-mother, step-brother, and step sister. Curtis was preceded in death by his father Chester Curtis McElhaney. He is survived by his mother, Sheila Cook; brothers, Cheston D. McElhaney and Austin Cook; step-father, Tom Cook; step-mother, Karen Reeves; step-brother, Garrett Reeves; step-sister, Lacey Reeves; maternal great grandmother, Pauline Kimbrough; paternal grandparents, Adrienne and Virgil McElhaney; and numerous aunts; uncles; and cousins. Visitation,Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Grove Hill Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Funeral Services, 10:00 am Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Grove Hill Funeral Home with interment following at Grove Hill Memorial Park. Curtis was a wonderful son, brother and friend.
