Family-Placed Obituary

Ernest Thomas Prado, Sr., 90, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with our Lord and Savior, peacefully, surrounded by his children, on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 Austin,TX. He was preceded in death by Dorothy Prado, mother of his 12 children. A native Austinite. He is survived by children Gloria Buchanan and husband Ben, Tina Lancaster, Carmen Irey and husband Steve, Candy Adcock and husband Rick, Mary Chatterton and husband Rick, Julie Cutler and husband Steve, Hilda Gartzke and husband Gary, Esther Stover, Ernest Prado Jr. and wife Trena, Jim Prado, Ronnie Prado and wife Genene, and Donnie Prado and wife Colleen. Ernest is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 31 great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be grandsons John Fairchild, Bill Fairchild, Michael Erwin, Joey Lancaster, Zane Furr, Reece Blincoe, Stevie Cutler, and Michael Stover. Honorary pallbearers are Timothy Erwin, Thomas Stover, Trenton Prado, Jimmy Prado, Mark Prado, Ronnie Prado Jr., Lance Prado, and special family friends Bob Trochta, Mark Kalish and Eddie Solter. The family wishes to thank the staff at Gracy Woods II Nursing Home for many years of care, and Dr. Jason Melear, Dr. Michael Gutierrez, and the staff of Odyssey Hospice Care. Rosary and visitation will be held at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Ave., on Thursday, October 7, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral will be Friday, October 8, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Wilke-Clay-Fish, with burial following in Assumption Cemetery.
