DearMYRTLE, your friend in genealogy
Finding Veteran Cemeteries
From a series of message board postings located at:http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/message/an/topics.methods....
From: Patti Champion,
Have you or anyone on your boards heard of Sawtelle Veterans Hospital/Sawtelle Veterans Cemetery? My father-in-law remembers going to his grandmother's (Cora E. Mullens Champion) father's funeral in 1924 at Sawtelle Veterans Cemetery, near Los Angeles, CA.. I am unable to find this veterans cemetery. Some time ago I had someone from Headstone Hunters try to find it with no success. His great-grandfather was supposed to be a Civil War veteran from OH and I have tried searching the records at the National Archives also with no success. I have also searched the census for Cora E. in the 1880 but was unable to find a Mullens/Mullins/Miller of her age (she was supposed to have been born in 1872). I have also tried searching for an obituary in 1924 LA newspaper at the Library of Congress. I am now moving to FL so will not have as much access to these records. -- Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your response. I had been seriously considering that this cemetery was the correct one. Thanks for confirmation. The history looks good.
