I did not know about the missing years! But was starting to smell the rat! From marriage cert, his fathers was Martin Duggan, but our anecdotal info was that the parents did not immigrate. He was, I belive the eldest of several siblings
and some of them may have accompanied him. I for sure have historical information about brothers Patrick and Michael. The 3 of them worked for Bell System/AT&T for over 100 years total, and were written about in the company magazine "Long Lines".
I found his Petition, and Certificate #154117, Sept 12, 1910. Is the Declaration something different? Small confusion factor: The certificate lists his address as 97 South St. The 1910 census, probably earlier in the year..list address as 97 Charles Street. Now, Charles St. tees into South street, and 97 South is right at that corner. 97 Charles is several blocks the other way. Could a census taker been confused about address or maybe grandpa was! From the 1920 census through 1950 they were at 13 Irving St, which is just around a corner and 3 houses up, from 97 South. Oh well, just something to ponder.
Thanks for the feedback. I will keep plucking away. I am only an hour away from the NARA library in Laguna Niguel,CA and have used their resources before, but cancer chemotherapy has me more or less housebound for the time being, so I am all over the internet! I will keep plucking away. Thank you very much!
