I think you mean which port would they use from the Continent? This is almost impossible to answer. They would have to start with a rail journey and the most direct route would be via Hamburg, perhaps the most popular, or Bremen, but could also be Antwerp, Ostend or even Le Havre. The reference to Liverpool, assuming the people originated from a continental country, would indicate what was called the "indirect route". This was popular because it was cheaper than the direct line with the big companies. People travelled to Hamburg (in particular) then on to Grimsby or Hull, train across England to Liverpool then on to North America or other places - just with one through ticket. It is also possible as Saxony is south-central that they could have gone to an Austrian-Hungarian port like Trieste but this is less likely. Just to ask which port anyone from Saxony would have used is unlikely to elicite much information. However their immigration records should give a clue.
