Hi again, Genealogy is certainly a long and slow process! I downloaded the digital copy of the marriage certificate of Jacques Chalou (as it is spelled on the certificate)and Marie Marguerite Larue, in St-Ours, on March 31, 1761. The certificate states that both spouses belong to the St-Ours Parish but does not mention the names of their parents as in most marriage certificates. Thérèse Leclaire is named as witness and mother of the bride. The 3 other witnesses are François Lusignan, father and son, and Cautraine (not sure of spelling) Benoist. Althouh our family's Chalou genealogy by Joseph Drouin gives Pierre Chaloux and Marie Boisdoré as Jacques Chalou's parents, Jean-Marie Chaloux s.s.s, a cousin of my mother who further the genealogical research inthe 60's, said in a letter thatJacques Chalou's parents were actually Jacques Chaloux and Félicité Berthiaume. It does seem more likely as I have yet found no record of a a son Jacques born to Pierre Chaloux and Marie Boisdoré whose family seemed to have remained in Quebec City.

There is a Pierre Jacques Chaliou born on February 19, 1737, in Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade, to Jacques Chaliou and Félicité Berthiaume.

So t this point I am working with this ascendance.
