I see Captain Thomas Fitzgibbons sword was sold at David Taylors antique store in Ohio recently for $11,000. The catalog states that Captain Fitzgibbon was shot carrying a flag of truce to Johnston from Sherman, at the end of the war. The Confederates apologised and tried to save his life, but he passed away.
I was interested in buying the sword as I am a Civil War fan from Ireland.....but $11,000 is a big sum for a collectible.
