Mary she was a native of Lorain, Ohio for 71 years, lived in Long Beach, California for 21 years to be next to daughter Diane and grandson DeLorean Williams. Mary lived a holy life God fearing life, where she was filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age at Elder Noels COGIC in Lorain Ohio, where she served as the church pianist and choir director. She later was called to New Bethel Primitive Baptist, where Mary as President for the Pastors Aide Auxiliary, Secretary of the Ushers Board, Sunday School, founder of the Widows Mite, Promoter of several gospel artists including the "Seven Travelers, Mighty Clouds of Joy, Five Blind Boys of Alabama, The Staple Singers" Mary is the most sought after "Mistress of Ceremony" due to her charismatic personality, and love for God's people. Mary was a professional business women, she owned "Mary's Soul Food" on Broadway in Lorain, Ohio and "Mary's Place" on Dunton Road, Lorain Ohio.
Mary had a love for cooking and entertaining her guests for any occasion or just because.
Mary was also, known as the favorite Head Start teacher for many years, her love for disadvantaged children was her true passion.
Many times children would beg to follow her home, on many occasions there were children in the Williams household. Mary Williams was known for her huge fundraising events, she raised over 500k thru out her service to the Lord.
She was very creative in that she created a money hat, made of currency, five, ten and twenty dollar bills, also, with matching money handkerchiefs and scarves all made of currency. Mary later was lead to Bethlehem Temple, Los Angeles, Ca, Bishop Smith (where she was baptized in JESUS NAME by Pastor Gentry Richardson) Greater Bethany, Los Angeles Pastor Bishop Mc Murray, Praise Temple, Long Beach, California Elder Bruce Riley…Mary's final service to the Lord was at Peace Apostolic Church in Carson, California Suffragan Bishop Howard A. Swancy. While serving at Bethlehem Temple of Los Angeles, Bishop Smith gave Mary the official title of "Mother Mary Williams from then on she would be recognized with honor as such.
Mary was also favored by the late sister Cynthia Swancy, whom honored "Mother Williams' by appointing her to be seated on the Swancy Family Mother accepted her position with honor and humility; she was seated next to the center aisle! (Mother remain in her seat of honor till illness) This gave easy access for Mother Williams to dance in the aisle, which served as her "Holy Ghost" dance floor! Mother Williams was one of the original praise dancers, as referenced" "When the spirit of the Lord comes upon my heart, I will dance like David danced" Mother would enter into the Kingdom shouting, with a loud scream, and dance all the way down the aisle to her appointed seat.
Mother attended many retreats both International and domestic. She was loved by all whom met her.
Mother Williams was very thoughtful, she never forgot a birthday or holiday, you would never received an empty card of no kind; she was so charitable, until she would give her last! Just to bring joy to someone else.
She served as missionary in the many hospital and homes without pay.
She was most happy BBQ in the park or on the ocean, as well as entertaining in her home on a regular basis.
Her Career: Nurse for over 25 years, Cook for over 50 years. Last employer was Bright Future Foster Family Agency, Owner Pastor William Hill (First United Methodist Church) retired. Mother Williams was the favorite cook and grandmoma to over 50 foster boys.
Mary hobbies were collected over 200 elephant figurines, sewing, fashion coordinator, reading, feeding the birds, interior decorating, TBD volunteers and Veteran Foreign Wars.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Diane Williams, grandson DeLorean Williams, sister Josephine Donald, Lorain, Ohio; a host of many other great grandchildren and God children as well as extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents Burrell Spicer and Roberta Boyd (Ralston) both of Waverly, Tennessee; only son Howard Lee Droney; one sister Almetrice Bailey, Nashville, Tennessee.
