My name is Jean Stevens and I have recently moved into a home in Covington Ga and have discovered that next door to where I live which is now the home of our sub-division pool there is a wooden fenced in area that contains 3 cement above ground graves, 2 adult and 1 small grave of which I have recently found out that they belong to Jacob and Anna Harmon and apparently on of their children. The graves are very old and worn and hard to read. I was told by our Commissioner's office that the 2 adults are Anna and Jacob which you can read the names(barely) but they do not have much information on the baby grave. They assume it belongs to possibly an infant that had died at birth. I do see 3 of the girls she gave birth to died at a very young age so I am wondering if possibly it belongs to one of them and why is there only 1 infant grave?? I am in the process of cleaning up the area and I would like to get as much information as I can so we can put a plaque up in the area so everyone can read and know the history behind the graves. For some reason I feel impelled to find more information. Unfortunately the pool area where these graves are had not been kept up by the previous Homeowners association and the pool is basically destroyed and I would like to at least preserve and clean up the gravesite area just out of respect if nothing else.
Thank-You for any information you can forward to me.
