I think for the people who are concerned about items being borrowed and used in others' trees, and if it's the only way they will consider making their tree public, doing as you are doing is fantastic. It's a big step.

Two things though: your direct lineage only may make it more difficult for others to connect into your tree generations up. I have found that it is the cousins at each level that help me find my relatives. I have matched to many people, but that's because both I and my relatives have well developed branches.

On the other hand, my husband's tree is so pruned (not by my choice, it's all I can find), I have not been able to link a single person to him. His DNA relatives trees tend to be as sparse as his, if not more so.

And, if your DNA cousin does look at your tree, and you have recent relatives in common. You might have photos and that new cousin may never see them because he/she won't know to look at your other individual trees.

Still, I applaud your efforts in creating a public DNA linked tree. Hope your test results are returned in a timely manner.
