Can ancestry.com provide a new way of searching through too many DNA matches?

Is anyone else feeling like the number of matches is preventing you from finding distant relatives?

I'd like to see a feature in Ancestry DNA to provide a "heatmap" driven by surnames in my matches.

Searching by Surnames that have high hit rates (not necessarily surnames in my tree, but ones that are in my DNA matches) might be a great opportunity to find pockets of relatives with a common ancestor missing from my tree.

At the moment, I can only go through each tree one at a time and try to do this manually.
