Census 2010 - Thoughts?

In the past, prior to the development of my interest in genealogy, I had no cognizance of the historical import to genealogy (and HISTORY) that a census might provide. Hence, I was oblivious to those ramifications when filling out census forms from prior decades and cannot comment on the genealogical content to be extracted from them.

Now that I have had my genealogical eyes opened, the data to be gathered for the 2010 Federal Census is an absolute disaster from a genealogy perspective.

No Household Relationship data
No Marriage data
No Ancestral data
No Immigration data
No Citizenship data
No Literacy data
No Occupation data

To the Federal Government, America's population has become, not individuals rich with a personal history to be both recorded, celebrated and absorbed into the "Melting Pot" of the American mosaic, but digits whose ancestral history is irrelevant to the facilitation of statist political manipulation and planning.

We, as interested genealogists, can only imagine the blank looks and disappointment that this database will elicit from genealogists of the future.
