Christine, the example you give is an excellent one! It shows exactly how ignorant people in the USA are about Britain.
The first two records in your image correctly refer to "Lincolnshire, England" but the third refers to "Lincolnshire, United Kingdom". The "United Kingdom" has no meaning in genealogy and is not searchable! The records on Ancestry are available for England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, NOT the United Kingdom!
Again, when adding place names to Ancestry trees, the standard format is clearly American! The on-screen instructions say "e.g., City, County, State, Country" and clearly that does not match British formats!!!
Perhaps the recent takeover of Ancestry by a European outfit might improve things???
