Mike, you say "So, if you are in the case where your spouse also happens to be your 10th cousin 2x removed, we're just going to call them your spouse. If you're in that situation, you should be able to click on the relationship and have it recalculate and give you the new result."
You already know that the person is your spouse. The calculator should show "10th cousin 2x removed" and show the ancestral lines to the common ancestor. This has been one of the big flaws from the beginning -- inability to get the darned software to show **blood** relationships between married persons. If you mean the calculator will just show "you are married" this is nothing new. It is a mistake in the programming that has been there since the thing was installed.
Edit to add: So exactly what was the improvement? Making it disappear completely unless the tree owner happens to know the secret for activating it?
